A pickleball player, Keith Foote, from the Selinsgrove Alliance Church will be sharing some of his experiences from a recent mission trip to Vanuatu. His talk will be tonight at 6:30pm in the AAC. Pickleball will be played after his presentation.

Join one of America’s fastest growing sports! Pickleball is a fun, active, social paddle sport for all ages and skill levels – and participation in the game is exploding throughout the country!

Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.  The sport is fairly easy to learn and you don’t have to be a great athlete to excel at Pickleball.

Newcomers welcomed and we have paddles for you to use.  New players can learn the basic rules quickly in a single session.

2018 marks the 53rd Anniversary of Pickleball, as it was invented in 1965 on Bainbridge Island, a short ferry ride from Seattle, by three enterprising dads.  Their children were bored with their usual summertime activities.

The origin of the game’s name is thought to be derived from the one family’s cocker spaniel, “Pickles”, who loved to chase stray balls and hide them in the bushes.
